12-Step Immersion Addiction Treatment

Addiction affects not only the physical and mental well-being of an individual but also their spiritual condition. At The Archway Foundation, we believe that addressing the spiritual dimension is crucial in achieving lasting recovery and healing. Our founder Peter Marinelli created this curriculum in hopes that every patient who enters our treatment center is exposed to this12-Step Immersion program. Where it is not mandatory, individuals have the option to participate in this program, giving them a more holistic treatment experience. Listed below are some of the highlights of our 12-Step Immersion track.

What Is 12-Step Spiritual Immersion?

Spiritual Immersion or 12-Step Immersion in addiction treatment involves a holistic approach that integrates spiritual principles and principles of the 12-Step fellowships into the recovery journey. This unique approach aims to transform lives by addressing not only the symptoms of addiction but also the underlying spiritual aspects that contributes to addiction and self-destructive behavior. This approach emphasizes surrendering to a higher power, self-examination, making amends, and ongoing personal growth.

Are 12-Step Immersion Programs Effective In Treating Addiction?

Spiritual Immersion is an effective alternative or suppliment to traditional addiction treatment. Many people suffering from addiction have been to multiple treatment centers in the past, and may benefit from the 12-step based immersion approach that The Archway Foundation offers. This has been a highly sought-after program throughout our years of operation because of the positive results it produces.

One of the main reasons this program is so effective is because it treats the mental obsession associated with addiction and alcoholism. The program recognizes that addiction is not just a matter of physical craving but also involves a powerful mental obsession that drives compulsive behavior. By actively engaging in this type of program, individuals explore their thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors surrounding addiction, gaining insight into the patterns that perpetuate substance abuse.

What Are The 12-Steps Of AA/NA

  1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol—that our lives had become unmanageable.

  2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

  3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

  4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

  5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

  6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

  7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

  8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.

  9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

  10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

  11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

  12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

12-Step Immersion At The Archway Foundation

Throughout our 12-Step Immersion Program, we offer a range of spiritual practices, including meditation, mindfuless, prayer and reflection, in conjunction with our outlined curriculum. This curriculum consists of one-on-one mentorship through our client workbook written by Peter Marinelli, small-group lectures with peers, outside 12 step meetings, and support from our 12 step contacts. This curriculum was developed through decades of experience working in the treatment center industry by Peter and his staff.

Our 12-Step Immersion Program consists of 3 seperate phases. Each individual will begin the program at phase 1. During phase 1, our members will attend small-group lectures and individual sessions from Monday-Friday. During their first week, members will be assigned a mentor to help them on a personal level while working through the curriculum. In addition to this curriculum, our members will attend regular 12 step meetings and be active in a homegroup of their choice. Throughout the week, members will also have the opportunity to participate in fitness classes designed specifically for men and women in sobriety of all levels of physical health.

After successfully completing our first phase, our members will step down into phase 2, where members will continue to attend small-group lectures and individual sessions that take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings. In this tier, our members will start our career development program. Members will be guided through the process of creating resemues and will be given assistance in applying for and securing employment. Members will continue to meet with their mentors on a regular basis.

After successfully completing phase 2, members will transition into phase 3. During this phase, our members will continue to attend one small-group lecture per week in conjunction with individual sessions.
